The U.S. Kids Golf European Championship will be played May 26-28, 2009
on five of Scotland's historic golf courses in Gullane, East Lothian,
Scotland.
Gullane Golf Club will serve as the host course. Built in 1898, Gullane
has been a qualifying venue for the Open Championship and boasts a
fantastic view across Aberlady Bay to Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth.
It is a region steeped in golf's traditions and will be an experience
of a lifetime for you and your family. In nearby North Berwick, the oldest
junior tournament, established in 1868, is still being played.

European Van Horn Cup
The European Van Horn Cup will be contested at Gullane Golf Club on
course No. 1. The top two European and top two International finishers in
the Boys 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 year old age groups and Girls 11, 12,
13, and 14 year old age groups will make their respective teams. The
competition will be match play within each age group. One point is awarded
for a win, and one half point is earned for a tie. The team with the most
points upon completion of play will be awarded the Van Horn Cup.
Players tying for first or second will use a scorecard playoff to
determine the team members. Ties will be broken by the last round score,
last 9 holes, last 6 holes, last 3 holes and then the last hole played
going back on the scorecard.
NOTE
To qualify for the European Championship you must have played in a USKG tournament in Japan.
Interested candidates are selected from the top
scorers. |
